Morocco to fight money laundering
Morocco to fight money laundering

A Financial Data Processing Unit (UTRF) has been created to fight money laundering.

The new unit will be in charge of processing and spreading financial data, in order to guarantee coordination among administrations, public institutions and legal entities, with the aim of fighting money laundering.  It will also assess the anti-money laundering measures and propose new ones able to eliminate this phenomenon.
This new unit is a fundamental mechanism in the judiciary and organisational system for the fight against money laundering and financial crimes, said Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, who presided over the ceremony of appointing the members and the president of the UTRF.
