Morocco Ralp Lauren

Gold, luxury and an obvious Arab influence - it's Ralph Lauren's collection for the coming spring summer 2008 season. A Thousand and One Nights was represented in a luxurious show that brought us to Morocco... Istanbul and Arabia. Interestingly, the cities of Dubai and Istanbul are two of the brand's new international locations.

As was to be expected, the colour palette had lots of khaki and cream tones, although this time there were reptile patterns and sequins. Adventure tends to be RL's main theme, and that's exactly the feeling we get from this colour palette, which lasts season after season.

Was it a daring move? Arab references might not seem obviously commercial, but blended with Ralph Lauren designs they're very exciting.

Our favourites? The gabardine trousers, the popelin jackets, the silk shirts and the richness of all these garments with their appliqués, and their luxurious tones like bronze silk... A voyage full of treasures.
